Swiss Jil Teichmann edged out Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (1) to advance to the semi-finals of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana.
Teichmann, ranked No 182, will play Francesca Jones next.
In the previous rounds, the Swiss edged out lucky loser Susan Bandecchi (6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (4)) and defeated Russian Polina Kudermetova, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-0).
Dmitruk, ranked No 496, won against Croat Tena Lukas (6-2, 5-7, 6-2) and No 4 seed Sara Bejlek (6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
