Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the second seed, advanced to the last 4 of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana by defeating Italian Nuria Brancaccio 6-1, 7-5 on Friday afternoon.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 94, will play the winner of the match between German Ella Seidel, the No 5 seed, and Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the 33-year-old Spaniard won against Slovak Viktoria Hruncakova (6-1, 6-4) and qualifier Ipek Oz (6-0, 6-1).
Brancaccio, ranked No 230, beat Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-4) and Ukrainian Anastasiya Sobolieva (7-6 (6), 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
