Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva won against Italian Matilde Paoletti 7-5, 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana on Wednesday.
Jimenez Kasintseva, ranked No 181, will face the winner of the match between Francesca Jones and Croat Petra Marcinko next.
The 19-year-old Andorran defeated Croat Lea Boskovic, the No 7 seed (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the 32, Matilde Paoletti edged out Slovak Veronika Erjavec (6-4, 4-6, 7-5).
