Romanian Miriam Bulgaru beat Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last four of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana on Friday.
Bulgaru, ranked No 201, will play Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Romanian edged out American qualifier Ashley Lahey (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and won against Slovenian Kaja Juvan, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-3).
Galfi, ranked No 141, won against Slovenian wildcard Ela Milic (6-1, 4-6, 6-1) and lucky loser Reka Luca Jani (6-1, 7-6 (3)) in the previous rounds.
