Wuhan Open: Haddad Maia downs Keys in first round
The Brazilian earned a straight-set win on Monday. She’ll face the winner of the match between Marie Bouzkova and Veronika Kudermetova in the next round
Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 9 seed, defeated American Madison Keys 7-6 (7), 6-2 to reach the second round of the Wuhan Open at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on Monday.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 12, will play the winner of the match between Marie Bouzkova and Russian Veronika Kudermetova next.
