Wuhan Open: Fernandez ousts Shnaider in first round
Leylah Fernandez won against Diana Shnaider in three sets on Monday. She’ll face the winner of the match between Karolina Muchova and Moyuka Uchijima in the next round

Canadian Leylah Fernandez moved into the second round of the Wuhan Open by winning against Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 12 seed, 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-3 at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on Monday.
Fernandez, ranked No 28, will play the winner of the match between Karolina Muchova and Japanese qualifier Moyuka Uchijima next.
