Title sees Noskova crack top 30 ahead of US Open
While Linda Noskova’s title at the WTA 500 in Monterrey comes too late for her to be seeded at the US Open, the teenager now officially enters the world’s top 30 this Monday.
Noskova defeated New Zealand’s Lulu Sun in the Monterrey final, boosting her 10 spots up the WTA rankings to No 25 in the world. Sun rises as well, up another 16 places to a career-high of No 41–having been outside the world’s top 100 two months ago.
Navarro, who she beat in the semi-finals, also moved to a career-high of No 12, putting her on the cusp of a maiden top 10 debut if she performs well in New York.
Ashlyn Krueger, McCartney Kessler, Erika Andreeva, Jessica Bouzaz Maneiro and Renata Zarazua all make career-high rankings this Monday.
