WTA Rankings: Sabalenka retains top spot as Shnaider climbs to No 12

Britain’s Katie Boulter climbs to a career-high ranking of No 23 after finishing runner-up in Hong Kong

Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka continued to lead the WTA rankings for a third consecutive week and an 11th overall week as the latest world rankings were published on Monday.

Sabalenka has 9,016 points, a lead of over 1,000 points over second-ranked Iga Swiatek, of Poland. The Belarusian is in a good position to end the season as world No 1 for the first time in her career and has begun her campaign at this week’s season-ending WTA Finals with a win in her first group match on Saturday.

With the top players all heading to Riyadh last week for the WTA Finals, there is no change in this week’s top 10, which is listed below.

  4. Jasmine Poolini (5,144 points)
  5. Elena Rybakina (4,871 points)

  8. Emma Navarro (3,664 points)
  9. Daria Kasatkina (3,368 points)
  10. Danielle Collins (3,176 points)

Shnaider, Sonmez and Golubic climb in the rankings following weekend titles

Outside the top 10, Spain’s Paula Badosa climbs one spot to No 11 while Diana Shnaider moves up two notches to reach a new career-high of No 12 after picking up her fourth title of the season in Hong Kong over the weekend.

Great Britain’s Katie Boulter, who finished runner-up to Shnaider in Hong Kong, also achieves a new career-high as she moves up six positions to No 23. Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova, runner-up in Jiangxi, is up 10 spots to a new career-best ranking of No 43.

Merida Open champion Zeynep Sonmez shoots up 36 spots to make her top 100 debut at No 91 after winning her first WTA singles title. American Ann Li, who Sonmez defeated in the final, climbs 18 spots to No 93.

Jiangxi Open champion Viktorija Golubic is another big mover this week, rising 63 positions to No 105 after winning her first title in eight years.
