The new WTA rankings this Monday see Coco Gauff return to No 3 in the world after her run to the Wuhan Open semi-finals, while the tournament’s winner, Aryna Sabalenka, draws within touching distance of Iga Swiatek at the top of the rankings.

Here’s how the WTA top 10 looks this Monday:

  1. Iga Swiatek – 9,785 points
  2. Aryna Sabalenka – 9,716 points
  3. Coco Gauff – 5,983 points
  4. Jessica Pegula – 5,785 points
  5. Elena Rybakina – 5,481 points
  6. Jasmine Paolini – 5,323 points
  7. Zheng Qinwen – 4,480 points
  8. Emma Navarro – 3,698 points
  9. Danielle Collins – 3,177 points
  10. Beatriz Haddad Maia – 3,096 points

Gauff’s rise to No 3 in the world sees Jessica Pegula bumped down one spot to No 4 in the world. Above them, just 69 points separate world No 1 Swiatek from the in-form Sabalenka, who is on track to end the year No 1.

Further down in the WTA top 10, Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia returns to her career high of No 10 in the world for the first time since June 2023. She displaces Barbora Krejcikova, who falls three places to No 13.

Frech continues her rise

Magdalena Frech’s strong finish to the 2024 season has seen her reach a new career high of No 24 in the world, with the Pole making the Wuhan Open quarter-finals last week.

Anna Kalinskaya continues her climb up the WTA rankings as well, moving one spot to a career high of No 12 in the world.

Other big movers include Ekaterina Alexandrova (up six spots to No 27), Leylah Fernandez (down six to No 34), Xinyu Wang (up 12 to No 39) and Bernarda Pera (up 16 to No 79).

Both Hailey Baptiste and Olga Danilovic also made big moves, up 22 and 17 places to respective career highs of No 80 and No 86 in the world.

Laura Seigemund, on the other hand, continues her slide, down another 21 spots to No 89 in the world. Yulia Starodubtseva falls too, dropping 12 places to No 91 in the world.
