WTA Hobart: Schmiedlova beats Osorio to move into second round
The Slovak qualifier will play Belgian Elise Mertens, the top seed, in the second round

Slovak qualifier Anna Karolina Schmiedlova moved into the second round of the Hobart International by edging out Colombian qualifier Camila Osorio 1-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 at the Hobart’s Domain Tennis Centre on Monday.
Schmiedlova, ranked No 67, will next play Belgian Elise Mertens, the top seed, who American Danielle Collins in another first round match on Monday.
