WTA Hobart: Gracheva makes second round, meets Rus next
The eighth-seeded Frenchwoman defeated American Peyton Stearns 7-6 (3), 3-6, 7-5 in the first round on Monday

Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 8 seed, edged out American Peyton Stearns 7-6 (3), 3-6, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Hobart International at the Domain Tennis Centre on Monday.
Gracheva, ranked No 39, will play Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus next.
