WTA Adelaide: Siegemund untroubled by Bogdan
Laura Siegemund won against Ana Bogdan 6-4, 7-5 on Wednesday and will play the winner of Daria Kasatkina and Anna Kalinskaya next
German Laura Siegemund moved into the quarter-finals of the Adelaide Open by winning against Romanian lucky loser Ana Bogdan 6-4, 7-5 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Wednesday night.
Siegemund, ranked No 89, will face the winner of the match between Daria Kasatkina and qualifier Anna Kalinskaya next.
The 35-year-old German edged out Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 7 seed (6-7 (1), 6-4, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Adelaide tournament, Bogdan, ranked No 66, beat qualifier Katie Boulter (6-3, 6-4).
