Second seed Jessica Pegula won against lucky loser Bernarda Pera 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Wednesday night.
Pegula, ranked No 5, will face the winner of the match between Russian qualifier Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and qualifier Katerina Siniakova next.
Pera, ranked No 69, defeated Spanish wildcard Paula Badosa (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Adelaide tournament.
