No 10 seed Marketa Vondrousova advanced to the third round of the Western & Southern Open by winning against Russian Anastasia Potapova 6-4, 6-2 at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Wednesday evening.
Vondrousova, ranked No 10, will face American Sloane Stephens next.
Marketa Vondrousova defeated Katerina Siniakova (7-5, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Cincy Open, Potapova, ranked No 27, edged out Swiss wildcard Celine Naef (1-6, 6-4, 7-5).
