Riske-Amritraj beats Bouzkova in Cincinnati second round
Alison Riske-Amritraj benefited from the forfeit of Marie Bouzkova on Wednesday evening and will play the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, the No 8 seed, in the next round
American Alison Riske-Amritraj advanced to the last 16 of the Western & Southern Open after Czech qualifier Marie Bouzkova withdrew before the match on Wednesday evening at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati.
Riske-Amritraj, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, the No 8 seed, next.
The American defeated Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (6-1, 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Cincy Open.
During the first round of the Cincy Open, Bouzkova, ranked No 46, benefited from the abandonment of American Coco Gauff, the No 11 seed (7-5, 1-0).
