Karolina Muchova moved into the final of the Western & Southern Open by defeating Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-2 at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Saturday evening.
Muchova, ranked No 17, will face American Coco Gauff, the No 7 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, Karolina Muchova won against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 12 seed (6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4), Croat Petra Martic (6-3, 3-6, 6-3), Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 8 seed (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) and Marie Bouzkova (3-0 ret.).
Sabalenka, ranked No 2, beat American qualifier Ann Li (7-5, 2-6, 6-4), Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 14 seed (6-3, 6-3) and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 5 seed (7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Cincy Open.
