Injured Gauff retires against Bouzkova – with two weeks to go until US Open

Czech qualifier Marie Bouzkova moved into the second round of the Western & Southern Open when American Coco Gauff, the No 11 seed, retired on Tuesday evening at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati.
Bouzkova, ranked No 46, led 7-5, 1-0 when Gauff, ranked No 12, pulled out at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Cincinnati on Tuesday evening.
The Czech will play American Alison Riske-Amritraj next.
