American Caroline Dolehide edged out Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Washington Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center on Monday evening.
Dolehide, ranked No 49, will play second seed Daria Kasatkina next.
