Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 6 seed, won against Su Jeong Jang 6-1, 6-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the Veneto Open at the Tennis Club Gaiba on Wednesday afternoon.
Yuan, ranked No 109, will play the winner of the match between Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 4 seed, and Austrian Sinja Kraus next.
In the previous round of the Gaiba tournament, the Chinese edged out Na-Lae Han (2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4)).
Jang, ranked No 123, beat Italian wildcard Camilla Rosatello (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Gaiba tournament.
