Belgian Yanina Wickmayer, the No 8 seed, won against Australian Priscilla Hon 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Veneto Open at the Tennis Club Gaiba on Tuesday.
Wickmayer, ranked No 117, will play American Sofia Kenin next.
