Veneto Open: Stefanini cruises past Rodina to reach quarter-finals

Italian Lucrezia Stefanini, the No 7 seed, beat Russian Evgeniya Rodina 6-2, 6-4 to reach the last eight of the Veneto Open at the Tennis Club Gaiba on Thursday evening.
Stefanini, ranked No 118, will play American Ashlyn Krueger next.
Ahead of her victory, the Italian edged out Belgian Magali Kempen (3-6, 6-2, 7-5).
Rodina, ranked No 328, edged out Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Gaiba tournament.
