Evgeniya Rodina edged out Giorgia Pedone 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Tuesday and will play the winner of the match between Italian Lucrezia Stefanini, the No 7 seed, and Belgian Magali Kempen in the next round

Russian Evgeniya Rodina advanced to the last 16 of the Veneto Open by edging out Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the Tennis Club Gaiba on Tuesday afternoon.
Rodina, ranked No 328, will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucrezia Stefanini, the No 7 seed, and Belgian Magali Kempen next.
