Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 5 seed, defeated Slovak Viktoria Hruncakova 7-6 (6), 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Veneto Open promoted by Regione del Veneto on Tuesday evening.
Zarazua, ranked No 95, will face the winner of the match between Italian wildcard Beatrice Ricci and American Robin Montgomery next.
