Russian Kamilla Rakhimova advanced to the last 16 of the Veneto Open promoted by Regione del Veneto by edging out Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the second seed, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Rakhimova, ranked No 108, will face Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck next.
