Qualifier Alycia Parks edged out Robin Montgomery 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Veneto Open promoted by Regione del Veneto on Friday afternoon.
Parks, ranked No 148, will play the winner of the match between Indian lucky loser Ankita Raina and Swiss qualifier Susan Bandecchi next.
Alycia Parks defeated qualifier Elvina Kalieva (7-6 (5), 7-5) and Romanian Anca Todoni (6-0, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Montgomery, ranked No 149, won against Italian wildcard Beatrice Ricci (6-1, 6-2) and edged out Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 5 seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-4).
