Dane Clara Tauson, the No 8 seed, won against Russian Anna Blinkova 6-4, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Upper Austria Ladies at the TipsArena in Linz on Friday.
Tauson, ranked No 39, will face Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Dane beat Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-3, 6-3) and Romanian Sorana Cirstea (6-2, 6-4).
Blinkova, ranked No 83, won against Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus (7-6 (3), 6-2) and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the second seed (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
