Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the second seed, won against German qualifier Jule Niemeier 6-3, 6-0 to advance to the last 8 of the Upper Austria Ladies at the TipsArena in Linz.
Alexandrova, ranked No 21, will face the winner of the match between Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 5 seed, and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
In the previous round of the Linz tournament, Niemeier, ranked No 159, beat Russian Anna Blinkova (6-3, 6-4).
