Swiatek dominates Kerber to give Poland 1-0 lead in United Cup final
Iga Swiatek continued her impressive form this week, giving Poland an early lead in the United Cup final against Germany
Iga Swiatek defeated Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-0 to give Team Poland a 1-0 lead in the final of the United Cup on Sunday night in Sydney.
The victory was a continuation of Swiatek’s strong form in the United Cup, with the Pole dropping just five games across her past four sets played in the competition.
Next up, Hubert Hurkacz will take on Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles match, with Zverev needing to win in order to keep the contest alive.
Zverev lost his singles match in the semi-finals yesterday, going down to Alex de Minaur in three sets.
