Trophée Clarins: Parry upsets second seed Gracheva to book spot in final
The Frenchwoman will face the winner of the match between Katie Volynets and No 6 seed Catherine McNally in the final
Frenchwoman Diane Parry moved into the final of the Trophée Clarins by beating Russian Varvara Gracheva, the second seed, 6-0, 6-2 at the Lagardère Paris Racing on Saturday afternoon.
Parry, ranked No 109 in the world, will play the winner of the match between No 6 seed Caty McNally and Katie Volynets in the final.
The 20-year-old Frenchwoman defeated wildcard Selena Janicijevic (1-6, 6-2, 6-4), Chinese Yue Yuan (6-2, 6-3) and Czech Linda Noskova, the No 4 seed (7-5, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Gracheva, ranked No 46, won against French wildcard Carole Monnet (6-1, 3-6, 6-3), Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-0, 6-3) and No 9 seed Kamilla Rakhimova (6-2, 7-5).
