Top seed Emma Navarro advanced to the last 16 of the Trophée Clarins by beating qualifier Lauren Davis 6-0, 6-0 on Wednesday evening.
The scoreline was perhaps a little harsh on Davis, who 29 points to the 57 of Navarro but could not turn them into games won.
Navarro, ranked No 22, will face American Mccartney Kessler next.
