Russian Erika Andreeva defeated Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 4 seed, 7-5, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Trophée Clarins on Thursday.
Andreeva, ranked No 100, will face Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round, the 19-year-old Russian won against Yuriko Miyazaki (7-5, 6-3).
Parry, ranked No 50, beat Russian Anastasia Zakharova (3-6, 6-1, 6-1) in the previous round.
