Transylvania Open: Ukrainian Snigur moves into quarter-finals

Ukrainian Daria Snigur moved into the last eight of the Transylvania Open by edging out German Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-0, 1-6, 6-4 at the BTarena in Cluj-Napoca on Wednesday.
Snigur, ranked No 154, will face the winner of the match between German Tamara Korpatsch and No 8 seed Jodie Burrage next.
The 21-year-old Ukrainian won against Belgian Greet Minnen, the No 3 seed (6-3, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, Friedsam, ranked No 111, defeated Romanian qualifier Ilona Georgiana Ghioroaie (6-1, 6-1).
