WTA Toronto: Shnaider prevails from a set down to make last 16
Shnaider will face American Coco Gauff, the top seed, in the next round

Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 14 seed, edged out Pole Magdalena Frech 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) to advance to the last 16 of the WTA National Bank Open.
Shnaider, ranked No 24, will face American Coco Gauff, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old Russian edged out lucky loser Harriet Dart (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2)).
Frech, ranked No 50, defeated Russian Anastasia Potapova (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) in the previous round of the Rogers Cup.
