WTA Toronto: Krueger stuns 15th seed Fernandez
Ashlyn Krueger upset Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday evening and will play American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, in the next round

American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger reached the last 16 of the WTA National Bank Open by defeating Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 15 seed, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday.
Krueger, ranked No 82, will face American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next.
The 20-year-old American won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-3, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, Fernandez, ranked No 25, won against Japanese lucky loser Nao Hibino (6-3, 5-7, 6-1).
