WTA Toronto: Local favourite Fernandez crashes out to qualifier Kreuger
Kreuger will meet fellow American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, in the next round

At the WTA National Bank Open on Thursday, Leylah Fernandez, the No 15 seed, was upset by American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday.
Fernandez, ranked No 25, had previously won against Japanese lucky loser Nao Hibino (6-3, 5-7, 6-1) in round one of the WTA National Bank Open.
Krueger, ranked No 82, will play American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next. Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old American beat Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-3, 6-2).
