WTA Toronto: Kostyuk overcomes Svitolina in three sets
Marta Kostyuk beat Elina Svitolina 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 on Thursday and will play Emma Navarro, the No 8 seed, in the next round

No 11 seed Marta Kostyuk defeated Elina Svitolina 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the WTA National Bank Open on Thursday afternoon breaking Svitolina’s serve four times on her way to the victory.
Kostyuk, ranked No 20, will play American Emma Navarro, the No 8 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, Marta Kostyuk won against German Tatjana Maria (6-0, 6-2).
Svitolina, ranked No 34, won against American Shelby Rogers (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round of the Rogers Cup.
