Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 6 seed, won against Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament on Tuesday night.
Kasatkina, ranked No 13, will play Greek qualifier Despina Papamichail next.
