Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament by winning against Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday night.
Garcia, ranked No 10, will play the winner of the match between Japanese qualifier Misaki Doi and Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 4 seed, next.
Kalinina, ranked No 28, defeated American Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round.
