Tokyo Open: Qualifier Sonmez upsets seventh seed Frech in first round
The Turkish qualifier will play the winner of the match between lucky loser Sara Saito and qualifier Sayaka Ishii in the next round

Qualifier Zeynep Sonmez moved into the second round of the Tokyo Open by defeating Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 7 seed, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the Ariake Coliseum on Monday.
Sonmez, ranked No 148, will face the winner of the match between lucky loser Sara Saito and qualifier Sayaka Ishii next.
