Tiriac Foundation Trophy: Second seed Tomova knocked out by Todoni

Romanian wildcard Anca Alexia Todoni advanced to the last 8 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by winning against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the second seed, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 on Wednesday.
Todoni, ranked No 281, will play the winner of the match between Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 8 seed, and Romanian Irina Bara next.
The 18-year-old Romanian defeated Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (6-3, 6-0) in the previous round.
During the round of 32, Tomova, ranked No 86, beat Russian qualifier Darya Astakhova (6-1, 6-2).
