Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 5 seed, defeated Austrian Julia Grabher 6-3, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Thursday.
Sherif, ranked No 74, will play Belgian Maryna Zanevska next.
Ahead of her victory, the Egyptian won against Romanian wildcard Miriam Bulgaru (6-4, 6-2).
Grabher, ranked No 97, won against Romanian wildcard Andreea Rosca (6-0, 6-3) in the previous round.
