Australian Astra Sharma moved into the final of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by winning against Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Sharma, ranked No 216, will face Italian Sara Errani, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the Australian beat Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-2, 6-1), Romanian Ana Bogdan, the top seed (6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 7-5) and Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 5 seed (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).
Cristian, ranked No 98, defeated Swiss Lulu Sun (6-1, 6-3), wildcard Andreea Mitu (6-1, 6-2) and Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (7-6 (4), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
