Hungarian Reka Luca Jani advanced to the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by beating Swiss Simona Waltert 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 on Thursday.
Jani, ranked No 114, will play Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Hungarian won against Italian Nuria Brancaccio (6-3, 6-3).
Waltert, ranked No 118, won against Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the top seed (6-3, 6-3) in the previous round.
