Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze won against Belgian Marie Benoit 6-2, 6-1 to move into the last 4 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Friday night.
Gorgodze, ranked No 426, will play the winner of the match between Russian qualifier Alevtina Ibragimova and Romanian Miriam Bulgaru next.
The Georgian edged out Swiss Simona Waltert (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) and Spaniard Aliona Bolsova (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Benoit, ranked No 223, defeated Swiss qualifier Leonie Kung (6-2, 7-6 (10)) and Swiss Valentina Ryser (6-4, 7-5).
