Romanian Miriam Bulgaru lifted the Tiriac Foundation Trophy trophy by edging out Liechtensteiner Kathinka von Deichmann 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 on Sunday.

Bulgaru, ranked No 202, defeated Italian lucky loser Nicole Fossa Huergo (6-1, 6-3), Serb Dejana Radanovic (6-4, 6-4), Russian qualifier Alevtina Ibragimova (6-2, 6-2) and Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds.

Earlier in the tournament, von Deichmann, ranked No 199, beat Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-3), Greek Despina Papamichail (2-6, 6-1, 6-2), Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the top seed (7-6 (4), 6-4) and Romanian wildcard Patricia Maria Tig (6-2, 6-0).
