Romanian Miriam Bulgaru moved into the last 4 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by beating Russian qualifier Alevtina Ibragimova 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.
Bulgaru, ranked No 202, will face Georgian qualifier Ekaterine Gorgodze next.
In the previous rounds, the Romanian won against Italian lucky loser Nicole Fossa Huergo (6-1, 6-3) and Serb Dejana Radanovic (6-4, 6-4).
Ibragimova, ranked No 335, benefited from the abandonment of Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (4-6, 6-4, 4-0) and defeated qualifier Alina Charaeva (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
