Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 3 seed, won against Russian Darya Astakhova 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Monday night.
Bondar, ranked No 52, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Gabriela Lee and Spanish qualifier Rebeka Masarova next.
