Thoreau Open: Pera makes last 8
Bernarda Pera beat Anna Blinkova 2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between American Katie Volynets and Frenchwoman Harmony Tan in the next round
American Bernarda Pera, the second seed, beat Russian Anna Blinkova 2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Thoreau Open at Thoreau Tennis club in Concord on Wednesday evening.
Pera, ranked No 56, will face the winner of the match between American Katie Volynets and Frenchwoman Harmony Tan next.
The American won against qualifier Kayla Day (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Concord Open.
In the first round of the Concord Open, Blinkova, ranked No 155, won against Varvara Flink (6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-2).
