Thailand Open: Wang advances to quarter-finals

Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 7 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Thailand Open by winning against Swede Mirjam Bjorklund 6-3, 6-3 at the True Arena Hua Hin on Wednesday.
Wang, ranked No 81, will play the winner of the match between Na-Lae Han and Heather Watson next.
In the previous round of the Hua Hin tournament, the 21-year-old Chinese beat Swiss qualifier Joanne Zuger (6-2, 6-2).
Bjorklund, ranked No 153, won against Thai wildcard Lanlana Tararudee (6-2, 6-4) in the first round of the Hua Hin tournament.
