German Tatjana Maria, the No 6 seed, defeated Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska 6-0, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open at the True Arena Hua Hin on Thursday.
Maria, ranked No 63, will play Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko next.
In the previous round of the Hua Hin tournament, the 35-year-old German won against Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala (6-2, 6-2).
Yastremska, ranked No 103, won against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima (6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-2) in the previous round of the Hua Hin tournament.
